I love this comic.  “The Duffy Dilemma” has probably had the longest development time of any comic I’ve ever done.  It was first inspired by a man named Jesse Phillips who I haven’t seen or spoken to in almost nine years.  So if you’re out there Jesse, thanks.

Jesse had this idea for a short film that would just be about two guys at a supermarket talking about how one of them has met Patrick Duffy.  It was supposed to be very slow-paced and droll and I thought it was hilarious.  Jesse had cast me and Matt Carlson (Sam from Testimony) in the roles of the two guys (I think I was supposed to be the one who met Duffy). While he never actually got around to making said film, he certainly talked about it a lot.  Jesse had this weird ironic obsession with Duffy and eventually passed it on to me and Bryan (Frank).  A couple years later, Bryan actually made me a “Duffy Quilt,” which was an about 6’ x 4’ series of printed out photos of Duffy taped together.  I hung it on my wall above my bed for most of my junior year of college until it fell down during the night and I rolled over it in my sleep, effectively destroying it.
